For all of us, the church’s decorations for the various liturgical seasons are amazing—the creativity, the talent, the time—so many folks give so freely of their talents to make it all happen, often times with only a day or two to make the change-over from Advent into Christmas, for example. For many, we come for Mass and everything is finished, as if it was “magic” or angels worked overnight. Pretty close! CLICK TO READ MORE...

Men’s Club retreat, February 7-9, 2014 to be held at Holy
Family Retreat Center in West Hartford. All are welcome and
invited. This two-day retreat will give you the opportunity to
meet other men of our parish, experience ways in which you can
increase your spiritual connection to God through everyday
events and prayer; hear topical discussions on how the Catholic
faith can strengthen your family life and your personal life; and
meet up with other like-minded men from around New England
and other states. Consider this a great opportunity to learn more
about yourself, your faith, and your fellow parishioners. More
information to follow.
Thanks to everyone who supported us by being a sponsor, donating raffle prizes, played in the tourna-ment, bought raffle tickets and Mulligans or attended the dinner—you made this all happen!
While we still have a few outstanding expenditures to account for so we don’t have a complete account-ing of the proceeds, we are assured that the 2013 Men’s Club Golf Tournament raised over $12,000 to be split between our two charities: St. Catherine of Siena’s Pantry Partners Ministry and the Malta House of Care. Many thanks again to all who participated and made this fun and worthwhile event so successful!
Keep in mind that May is already upon us and so is the Men’s Club’s annual golf outing, this year scheduled for May 31st. This year’s event has a bit of a twist on the traditional good times and fun-filled day—along with fellowship and the great out-doors at Simsbury Farms—our Men’s Club is looking for your help to raise money through this charitable event for health care and for food, supporting the Knights Of Malta Mobile House of Care and our very own Pantry Partners Ministry. Along with catching up on your Vitamin D, you can spend the day with family and friends and in support of two great Catholic charities that benefits people right here in Simsbury. I want to thank all of our parishioners who volunteered in the 2012 Annual Leaf Rake sponsored by the Men’s Club. I have only heard great things from the leaf-rakers and have received numerous phone calls and letters for the
homeowners who benefitted from your generosity and compassion. The gratitude from those whom you helped is overwhelming. One story that came to my attention was of a home owned by a single mother who is having some difficulties in these tough economic times. Her lawn was raked by "mistake" ...Click to read more!
