When should I receive it? What does it do? Many people ask the question, “What do Sacraments do?” It is a fair and legitimate question to ask. So, let us begin to answer that question, and further consider the various questions we might all have on the Sacraments. Well, if you have...I have three opportunities I would like you to consider: Pantry Partners: This ministry, which is comprised of some 10 volunteers, provides boxed food blessings to people in the Farmington Valley who are facing food insecurities. Lenten Mercy Project: Much like the Advent Giving Tree, the Lenten Mercy Project is a seasonal ministry that is rolled out every Lent, for the 6 weeks of Lent, when the parish collects both financial donations and specified products Coffee And...prior to Covid, our parish each month organized coffee, donuts and fruit after the Sunday morning 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses
The 2021 Advent Giving Tree raised $113,632! What a wonderful commentary on the people of thisparish and their Christian generosity towards those in need. Thank you! The breakdown of the Advent Giving Tree is as follows: $57,291.50 to the Neighbors in Need fund; $45,340.50 to the Malta House of Care; and, $11,000 was undesignated. I am placing the entire $11,000 from the undesignated into the Malta House of Care, where a greater need will prevail throughout the whole of the year.
Ordinary Time (Latin: Tempus per annum) is the part of the liturgical year in the liturgy of the Roman Rite, as revised in 1969, which falls outside the two great seasons of Christmastide and Eastertide, or their respective preparatory seasons of Advent and Lent. The word "ordinary" as used here comes from the ordinal numerals by which the weeks are identified or counted, from the 1st week of Ordinary Time in January to the 34th week that begins toward the end of November.
