Well, you will not be required to go to Bethlehem any time soon, but shortly you are going to be asked to be counted by responding to the upcoming Parish Census Survey. In September, our Parish will conduct an updated Census. The purpose of the Census is to provide the Parish and the Archdiocese with current information about the number of parishioners and to provide the Parish with information to assist in our daily operations. Key Messages as to ?Why? Parish Registration is important:

1. Registration illustrates, in a concrete way, the direction in which the parish is going. Every organization needs to know this in order to plan efficiently for the future? from issues of planning parking and Mass schedules and bugeting to organizing religious education and youth ministry;

2. Registration in a parish shows one?s commitment to the worshiping community, and is necessary when one hopes to be a godparent or Confirmation sponsor;

3. Registered parishioners receive necessary and timely communications on events and information about the parish; and,

4. As the Archdiocese makes determinations regarding the number of parishes and priests needed to operate and meet the needs of Catholics, numbers count.
