I would like to take a moment and thank Diane Whittemore for her service as the Assistant Director of Youth Ministry. Diane has been an invaluable asset to youth ministry, creating and directing our Teen Weekend Away, and consistently bringing her creativity, many years of experience in both youth ministry and Faith Formation, and her enthusiasm and endless energy to our youth ministry programs. She has given direction and inspiration to many, and her presence will be missed by all. Diane will now be spending more time with her family, and will continue with her many other volunteer positions, including the LifeSong Ministry here at St. Catherine of Siena, the Street Sandwich Ministry, the Second Chance Shop, in addition to new opportunities as well. Please join me in wishing Diane our best in whatever comes next for her - may it bring her the same joy and fulfillment as she brought us in youth ministry!
And now, I am pleased to announce and offer a warm welcome to Adriana Farrell, our new Assistant Director of Youth Ministry. Adriana has been an active member of the St. Catherine of Siena community all her life, joining the children’s choir at 6 years old, and continues to share her beautiful voice in our adult choir. She herself actively participated in youth ministry as a parishioner, both junior and senior high, attended Steubenville conferences, the Boston Mission Trip, and many other service projects and activities throughout her tenure in youth ministry. Adriana is a graduate of Fairfield University, where she earned a BA in Teaching and English, and multiple minor degrees (Sociology, Educational Studies, Classical Studies and Religious Studies). She was a member of Theta Alpha Kappa – a National Honor Society for Religious Studies and Theology, and Alpha Sigma Nu – an Honor Society of Jesuit Universities, as well as multiple other honor societies. Recently, she has been an assistant teacher in grades 4 and 5. Adriana has a deep love of Christ, and a desire to lead young people deeper into their faith. She believes in the concepts learned through the Ignatian Leadership program: who am I, whose am I, and who am I called to be? As a life-long member of our faith community, she is prepared to welcome your children into our youth community, listen to them, and support them with prayer and time.
Please join me in welcoming Adriana where, together, we will continue to grow in our commitment and success of seeking the excellence of your children in our faith community!
