A parishioner working on his Eagle Scout project has designed and built a new food pantry collection station—it’s in the same location in the vestibule, but this new set-up provides for a safer, bigger and wonderful ease-of-use, offering better organization of the various types of food stuffs we collect. The new food pantry station is easily mobile and can be brought right to the vehicles outside that are taking the food to the Town of Simsbury Food Pantry.
Eagle Scout candidate and parishioner, Chris Harvill, made this project happen and was very diligent and specific about the design, the construction and the finished project—even matching the stain to the altar furniture’s cherry stain. This piece ties-in physically and spiritually to the command of Christ: “Feed my Lambs,” so we can see the connection from Christ’s command to our practical action (lived faith). Chris did a great job and I want to publically thank him for this wonderful project and wish him the best as he heads toward his Eagle Court to receive Scouting’s highest honor.
Congratulations, Chris!
