It seems like just saying “thank-you” isn’t enough—but THANK YOU—to everyone who put in such hard work and generous amounts of time and energy to make our Sacred Triduum such a powerful and spiritual celebration. I am very blessed with all the help I receive here at Saint Catherine of Siena Parish.
To Susan Zybert our music director and Nicole Poirier our contemporary music leader, to the many
members of the choirs—the wonderful children’s choir, to the adult choir, and the contemporary choir—all the time, energy and effort you put in during these last few months, in preparation for this sacred time of year really brought it all together. One parishioner told me that whole of the Triduum was like a crescendo of spiritual power, starting on Holy Thursday and building right to the Sunday Masses, including Good Friday’s Seven Last Words of Christ. And thanks to all our cantors who took lead parts in bringing our congregation to song and praise of Jesus Christ; the Easter Vigils Exultet, sung by parishioner and Northwest Catholic senior, Kevin Kearns, was splendidly done. Thank you one-and-all.
To our altar servers, lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and our ushers who all made the celebration of the liturgy really run smoothly with all of its many, many moving parts. Thank you for your generosity this time of year and all year long. Thanks also to the ushers who served each Mass and came back on Easter Monday night to put away the chairs used for the overflow at the Masses (Bill Eagan, Ron Dudley, Kevin Frasier and Steve Cerchia).
To those who made the altar sanctuary and our church so beautiful with flowers and fine linens: Janet Fischer and Marlene Snecinski who worked tirelessly on the design and execution of our flowers—the orchids, the lights and desert plants; to Barbara Hopkins who decorated the atrium and vestibule with lilies and hydrangea, and to Kathy Moore who cleaned, repaired and situated the altar linens on the altar, chair and tabernacle table, and covered with the help of Cricket Hannon all the icons, and then Mike Grappone and Dennis Hannon who both hung, then tore down, and then rehung the various colors of white, red, gold according to the day’s celebration on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Many, many thanks!
To our Liturgy Committee who planned everything months ago, to the Men’s Club Ministry who
built, installed and illuminated the three crosses in the field, Thank you all for everything!
And to our Alleluia Party doers—Kathleen Mangiafico, Janet Fischer, and all the wonderful
parishioners, who organized, pulled off and cleaned up after this grand event —far too many to mention– what a wonderful community celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection. Thank you all for such an elegant and
spectacular party!
And last but certainly not least, to the people of Saint Catherine of Siena Parish—Thank you for making all this possible. Your presence and participation, your prayers and support, enable our parish through its many ministries and programs to be a very welcoming and faith-filled community of believers. I am certain God is very pleased! Thank you!
