I would like to say “thank you” also to Tina Yablonski and Sherry Cordani for their advanced planning and their execution of our most successful Lenten Mercy Project. Through their tireless efforts and strategic planning, we supported six (6) charities (Gifts of Love in Avon, Little Sisters of the Poor in Enfield, Nurturing Families Network in Hartford, Catholic Charities Migration, Immigration & Refugee Services in Hartford, the Veterans Home in Rocky Hill and the Archdiocesan Prison Ministry) with food, drinks, clothing, household supplies, art supplies, children’s clothes and items, toys for hospitalized children at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) and money as we Feed the Hungry, Visited the Imprisoned, cared for the sick and so much more. In addition, through the efforts of the children in our religious education program, nearly $800 was raised for the “Children Making Change” program which purchased toys for the children recovering at CCMC, and that most certainly brings joy to their lives as they work to become healthy again. I offer my sincere thanks to Sherry and Tina and to all our parishioners who participated in our Lenten Mercy Project! Thank you for your generosity and concern for others. A blessed Easter season to all!
And, appreciation also goes to everyone who made our Holy Week and Triduum Masses and services such a wonderful celebration of our Catholic faith. From the lectors and Eucharistic Ministers and altar servers, to the lectors, choirs and ushers, the decorators and flower folks, the Liturgy Committee and all who attended our celebrations—THANK YOU for making our parish such a family of faith and a light in our corner of the world. Peace and joy to all for all that you do!
