Have you ever wanted to make a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France, to receive a blessing , a potential healing, to pray with others and experience the power of prayer, the celebration of an outdoor Mass, the blessing of the sick, and Exposition of the Holy Eucharist…but just can’t make it to France?
Well then, let “Lourdes” and the power of prayer come to you. Saturday, September 12th at Saint Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. thanks to the Knights of Malta you may now experience the healing power of Christ and the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Saint Catherine of Siena Parish will participate in this health and healing event and is asking those in our parish who wish to seek a day of grace and healing to come join the Knights of Malta on this local pilgrimage of healing.
This pilgrimage will be held at the Archdiocesan Center in Bloomfield at St. Thomas Seminary on September 12. This Holy Day will feature Reconciliation, music and song, Mass with Anointing of the Sick, lunch, talks to the Malades, talks to caregivers, and Benediction. In the event of rain, Mass will be held in the Seminary Chapel otherwise it will be held outdoors in the Shrine. Fr. Robert Dunn of the Bronx, NY, and Malta Chaplain, will be the celebrant and is known for his charismatic interaction and spellbinding homilies. Malades will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Knights of Malta are very active in the Archdiocese of Hartford providing free medical care through the Malta Foundation and their Mobile Medical Vans as well as through food pantries and other charitable assistance to the sick and the poor. St. Catherine of Siena Parish is blessed to have two Knights of Malta, Bob O’Hara and Scott Muryasz, who are both very active leaders in the Hartford-area Knights of Malta and initiated our parish’s support of the Malta Mobile Medical Vans through our Advent Giving Tree Program, raising more than $100,000.00 in the last four years from our parishioners to provide health care for those who are uninsurable, even with the Affordable Care Act which is far too expensive for many of the “working poor.”
