Lenten Mercy Project continues this last, Sixth Week:
Our Lenten Mercy Project realized a "ton" of clothes, pillows, bed linens, baby clothes and young children’s clothes, infant formula, diapers, as well as journals, playing cards, and stamps for our local seniors; and an assortment of other, everyday and much needed items have been collected in our parish for a variety of charities in the Greater Hartford area.
It’s been amazing! Just amazing! Add to that the fact that our younger children, in our Religious Education program also have participated in an activity called "Children Making Change," created by Sherry Cordani and Tina Yablonski and working with Kathi Bonner, raised some $566.17 in loose change from their backpacks and pants pockets to reach out and help younger children in need— talk about a wonderful lesson: gratitude and the realization that not everyone is as blessed as they are. It has been a wonderful season of prayer and giving. I am sure the Lord is very pleased with these youngsters and with all who have participated in this most successful Lenten Mercy Project. Thanks to Tina and Sherry for making our Lenten project a great success!
