I write to thank everyone involved with our most recent Forward with Faith event in our parish, the presentation by Dr. John Rosemond regarding raising children through leadership and guidance rather than by “parenting” via negations. The key message or theme of John’s presentation is that raising children well requires mothers and fathers who see their role as guides and not merely friends or “buddies,” and that our parents represent to us (their children) the unique and identical relationship of God to His children—a relationship where the parent offers guidance in faith and in life through equal parts authority and unconditional love. That sounds very familiar. The event was a success by all accounts, and of equal import, it was flawlessly executed.
While it took many individuals and ideas to make this all happen, I do wish to note in particular Kathleen Mangiafico and Kathi Bonner by way of leading a great team of volunteers to make this all happen. Thank you ALL!
Our response to the topic, the presenter and welcoming atmosphere of our parish was unanimous. And I so very much appreciate all those involved.
One of the great results of our Forward with Faith Campaign, which due to the generosity of our parishioners, enables us to present appropriate and applicable programs and events, such as Dr. John Rosemond, which are all about faith, family and growing our church so that we can all—whether we are active parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings or friends and neighbors—see and implement the applicability and common sense (natural law) of our Catholic faith to our very own lives. We have a great team of volunteers—as well as many wonderful and amazing parishioners—who make things happen. We are blessed in abundant ways! Thank you!
Next up on our ongoing Forward with Faith program will be a one-night Parish Pentecost Missionthis May with Pete Burak, who will speak to the topics of what we truly believe as Catholics and what that means to our salvation—our soul—and whatshould that mean for how we go about life. More detail to follow in future bulletins and media announcements
