*Important point to make now: I have heard from some parents that their child(ren) “is taking this year off from Faith Formation classes and will not register…” While I understand that there are unusual circumstances in some instances, and be advised that our program under Kathi Bonner always worked with parents with these “needs”, a dying grandparent or other family situation, taking time off for sports or other extracurricular activities is not really in the best interest of the child’s faith formation.
We can work with a family with special concerns. Home study programs can be created and utilized for each true circumstance. I believe I am an accommodating parish priest and I am willing to work with everyone, however we all need to “ prioritize the important things in life,” and as an avid Red Sox fan I feel very comfortable in saying that the salvation of my soul is a greater homerun than any at glorious Fenway Park. I am happy to have a conversation with anyone. Psalm 37: “The Salvation of the Just comes from the Lord.”
