March 14, 2020Out of an abundance of precaution, Manuela Hanshaw and I have decided to cancel (postpone) the Boston Mission Trip at this time. Due to the “unknown” of the Coronavirus and to best maintain the health and safety of our teens, this precautionary measure is appropriate.
An email was sent earlier this week to all teen Mission Trip participants. We have strongly encouraged them to fulfill their auction item services which you so generously supported. The Mission Trip is a major opportunity for our youth to engage in the corporal and spiritual works of mercy and enables them to help the Church bring the mission and ministry of Christ to those in need.
By fulfilling their auction item sales, they will either extend the mission trip to another date or we will provide various opportunities to do their work locally here in the greater Hartford area or in Boston at a better time. More to come on this topic in future announce-ments! After all, Christ said, “The poor you will always have with you.” (Mark 14:7) As the Coronavirus subsides with better weather and treatments and the “panic of the unknown” becomes more realistic, more information will be forthcoming.
