As Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent approach, so does St. Catherine's Lenten Mercy Project. Each year during Lent, we are asked to pray, to fast and to donate/to offer alms. St. Catherine's Lenten Mercy Project has a long tradition based on the Corporal Works of Mercy.
Each weekend, beginning February 20/21 and ending on the weekend of March 27/28, we are asking you to support 6 charities that provide those Corporal Works of Mercy to our community.
Given the pandemic, we are breaking with our long tradition of collecting goods and asking you to support these wonderful agencies monetarily only. You may drop your donations in the collection boxes located in the atrium and vestibule or by participating in Faith Direct.
Each week, in the bulletin and on the parish website, you will see a description of the beneficiary as well as a link to Faith Direct. As in the past, our first week is devoted to "Feed the Hungry" and the agency is Gifts of Love.
Lent is a journey of renewal and reawakening…we hope that you will participate and that you will give lovingly as an Easter people. Thank you for helping to keep our Lenten promise and St. Catherine's tradition of helping those in need.
