The Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford announces an immediate opening for a part-time Parish Social Ministry/ Social Justice Coordinator in its New Haven office.
OCSJM serves 213 parishes in Central Connecticut, including New Haven and Litchfield Counties. The primary responsibility of the new coordinator will be to infuse Catholic social teaching and the Catholic Church's social justice perspective into all aspects of Catholic life in the Archdiocese of Hartford, with special attention to social justice formation and parish social ministry.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position should have a Master's degree in social services, human relations, adult education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
He/She should have a working knowledge of the principles of Catholic social teaching and their application. The candidate should have a minimum of three years’ experience in community organizing, parish social ministry or a related area.The position is part-time (20-30 hours/week) and salary is commensurate with experience.
