Just a gentle reminder as we return in larger numbers to Mass and the Holy Eucharist, that we remain socially distanced in the communion line, save for household family members, and reverently receive our Lord in the hand, moving at the time of reception from the priest or Eucharistic minister to the right or left, and consume the Holy and Sacred Body of Christ at that time.
I have seen some people take the Eucharist to their pews and consume it. This is not appropriate, as we are called to receive it and consume at the point of reception. We are in no rush to “get out of the way” for the next in line to receive and consume.
Sometimes and certainly unknowingly the Eucharist may fall to the ground or somehow part of it may dislodged from the whole. Sadly, I have even found one or two Eucharist’s on the grounds outside.
If someone wraps the Eucharist in a tissue to take home to loved one who is ill, please let us know of this need and either I or a Eucharistic Minister can bring the sick Holy Eucharist. Thank you.
