I wish to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for the participation of our parishioners in the Sacred Triduum—Holy Thursday’s Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Good Friday’s Passion of the Lord and our beautiful Seven Last Words, and the Great Easter Vigil—the active participation, the music and the liturgies were beautiful. I thank you all for making our parish experience alive, well and joyful.
I also thank all of our volunteers and staff working together and always seeking the excellence of the other. From our lectors, altar servers, ushers and Eucharistic ministers and “apostles,” to all our follower decorators and the many volunteers of the Alleluia Party and beyond—Thank you!
The Easter Season continues until Sunday, May 19, when we once again enter into Ordinary Time. However, we have the entire story of the Resurrection of Christ and His unending Love and Mercy all year long. You see, the Love of Christ and God cannot be bound by time and space, and certainly not by the three days in the tomb, which we just celebrated. Rather, His Love is unending. It is Eternal. The faith, which has already been totally revealed to us in Christ, has no 2.0 or updated version coming. Rather, what is “anew” is how it is revealed to each of us in our own time and place, the Absolute Truth of God—fully revealed in Christ—is then given to us in the Holy Spirit and we are enabled to use that “ruder of Truth” to guide us today in the modern world. We have faith, a benchmark of Truth, by which we can consider the culturally provided answers of the world—and know how to choose. Righteousness over convenience. That is the beauty of the Resurrection. Now and forever. Amen!
