I want to take this time to let our parish know that Deacon Joe MacNeill has completed his assignment here at St. Catherine of Siena Parish and will be moving on to a different assignment and parish soon. I know you join me in prayer and good wishes for the next venture in his Ordination to Priesthood.
Sadly, the Covid pandemic and all of its implications “ate” into Deacon Joe’s time here. With the seminarians returning early (mid-October) from Seminary in Michigan to Bloomfield, Deacon Joe spent the last two-plus months working with them at St. Thomas Seminary as Prefect. In addition to the time crunch, his interactions with the seminarians and health requirement to quarantine would not allow him to return to the parish or rectory in a timely fashion, especially with health risks.
Let’s pray for more vaccines, better precautions, elimination of the virus and a return to normal “soon, and very soon,” for all of our sakes. And all good wishes for Deacon Joe’s successes and future Ordination. At the time of this bulletin being written, his assignment was not yet published by the Archdiocese.
