Over the next few weeks ALL registered parishioners will receive and updated Census card and I am personally asking you to please fill it out completely and return it to the parish office. If you attend here regularly and are not yet registered, it is my sincere hope that you will pick up a Census card in the atrium or vestibule, fill it out and register in the parish. I know that for various reasons some people feel uneasy about registering in a parish. BUT it is important and very necessary. Here are some "myth busters" for registering:

• The priest does not follow your collection amounts. I do not see the donation figures individually but only see the bottom line collected each week. I do not participate in the counting of the collection;

• If you feel uneasy about calling your old parish and unregistering there because ?Father is a nice man? or you know the secretary in the office, let us call your old parish and unregister you there. Just let us know the name and town in which your former parish is located. It is as easy as that;

• Registration in a parish enables you to be considered for a godparent at baptism or a Confirmation sponsor. One of the requirements to stand up for some in that sacra mental action is that your are registered and attend regularly; and,

• As the Archdiocese of Hartford reviews its needs for parishes and priestly assignments, number matter. In the last 6 years, St. Catherine of Siena has grown from 850 families to over 1300 (and growing!). We MUST let the archdiocese know the wonderful direction in which we are heading. This accurate count not only helps us stay open, but also helps the parish plan more efficiently for religious education needs, youth ministry needs and other administrative actions.
