Did you ever do the right thing when it was difficult? St. Joseph did. He followed what God wanted him to do and trusted in God’s plan. He was a person of great faith and courage. That is why God chose him to care for Jesus. We see people who seem to worry too much about what other people think of them, and in some instances, then they don’t do the right thing. We want the same clothes as others, the same electronics, the same car—we want everyone to like us. This Advent let us be mindful of what God thinks of us and what He expects us to do.
Q.) Why is it important to care more about life with God than the opinion of others?
Advent family activity: God gives us hope, even when life is difficult. We don’t know what the future will bring, but we know God will be with us always. God is our Creator, and each of us has been given gifts and talents to share with one another. Talk as a family about trusting God in all things. What does it mean to trust God? Why is it hard to trust God when we want to be in con-trol?
Advent Prayer: God of hope, during this Advent season, fill our hearts with faith and our lives with Your love. Help our fam-ily have the courage to what is right, as St. Joseph did. May we be faithful to you in all times and places of our lives. Amen.
