Catholics offer praise and worship to God sacramentally through adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in quiet reflection and praise of God for all His goodness to us. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in a Monstrance—sometimes with Benediction, other times without.
Currently at St. Catherine of Siena Adoration and Benediction is offered every Tuesday morning immediately following the daily Mass from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Additionally we will begin to offer evening adoration on the third Tuesday of the month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. This time frame will offer an opportunity for those who work and cannot be here in the mornings to come before the Lord and be in private prayer (dialogue) with Him.
Tuesday evening Adoration will be offered by lay men and women who have been trained to reverently expose and repose the Blessed Sacrament for other parishioners, which is approved by the Church. This is being offered since I cannot always be present with the limited amount of time in the weekly schedule and with the many other ministries and programs taking place in the parish. But the absence of the priest should not preclude the opportunity to praise and worship God.
This service of adoration will be a little different—no Benediction or blessing—but clearly the
opportunity to come before the Lord and be in prayer is of the utmost importance.
Please consider joining us for this special time and take advantage of another form of personal
prayer, the Third Tuesday of the month from 7-8 p.m. starting on February 18th.
