A Teaching Mass Over the next few months, I will use three Specific Masses to teach the finer points of the Mass: what are we saying at Mass, what is the meaning and purpose of the words of the Mass, and what is actually happening at specific points of the Mass.
These three Masses one Saturday Vigil, one 8 a.m. Mass, and one 11 a.m. Mass which have been slated as Faith Formation class Masses, will be offered so that we all have a better understanding of just what we are doing at the Mass. You know the saying, "The more you know...the more you participate".
The teaching of the Catholic Church, illustrates the Mass as a participatory event, and the better we understand what we are actually doing the more we will take away from the Mass thus the more the Mass will guide and inspire us to be better disciples of Christ.
For your spiritual benefit, the following dates are our "teaching" Faith Formation class Masses on November 4th, 5 p.m.; January 21st, 8 a.m. and March 3rd, 11 a.m
