As an Acolyte (Altar Server), you will perform a very important service for the members of our community at the celebration the Liturgy. Your ministry is to assist the Priest (and Deacon), and to lead the community in the worship of God.
Being an Acolyte means exactly that, serving God and serving God’s people at Mass. What you do and how well you do it will help people to grow in their love of God and help them in their participation at the Liturgy.As an Acolyte, you are a leader of the assembly and will participate in the Liturgy by listening carefully to the Word of God in the readings and joining in the songs, prayers and responses.
Special Skills
You must have the ability to follow directions, be reverent, and have an openness to learn.
Commitment
Attend two training sessions. Scheduled for approximately 2 Masses per month, alternate times. Must arrange for a replacement if not available on the scheduled Mass.
